Pakistan Lunches Hatf - VII with stealth capabilities

Today on Friday Pakistan conducted a successful test fire of the multi tube, indigenously developed Cruise Missile Hatf – VII (Babur) having a range of 700 kms. The missile test was conducted to validate the design parameters of the weapon system and a new Missile Launch Vehicle (MLV). Babur Cruise Missile is low flying, terrain hugging missile with high maneuverability, pin point accuracy and radar avoidance features. It can carry both nuclear and conventional warheads and has stealth capabilities. It also incorporates the most modern cruise missile technology of Terrain Contour Matching (TERCOM) and Digital Scene Matching and Area Co-relation (DSMAC).

A special feature of today’s launch was the validation of a new multi tube Missile Launch Vehicle (MLV) during the test. The three tube MLV enhances manifold the targeting and deployment options in the conventional and nuclear modes. With its shoot-and-scoot capability, the MLV provides a major force multiplier effect for target employment and survivability.

The test was witnessed by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Khalid Shameem Wynne (HI), Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General (Retired) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Commander Army Strategic Force Command, Lieutenant General Tariq Nadeem Gilani and Chairman National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) Mr Muhammad Irfan Burney, senior officers and from the armed forces and strategic organizations, scientists and engineers. The test will consolidate Pakistan’s strategic deterrence capability and further strengthen national security.

The successful test has also been warmly appreciated by President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, who have congratulated the scientists and engineers on their outstanding success.

ISPR rejects baseless militants support report



Rawalpindi - 28th October 2011

Today on Friday an ispr spokesman condemn the claim on Pakistan Army involved in helping Afghan  Taliban against NATO and U.S Military. The claim was not only restricted to the army but its intelligence agency was also targeted. The ispr spokesman said “We consider that this report is highly biased, it is one-sided, it doesn't  have the version of the side which is badly hit or affected by this report,  therefore, other than that, its factually incorrect."

The news report was broadcasted on the last Wednesday in shape of two documentaries series. In those documentaries Pakistan Army and its intelligence agency the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was charged with protecting, sharing secret information and supplying war goods to the Taliban. In the second documentary Al-Queada was also added with the Afghan Taliban.

The documentary was only broadcasted by "BBC News" which is an British news channel.

Pak – China Joint Military Exercise YOUYI-IV

Today on Thursday the Pakistan – China Joint Military Exercise YOUYI-IV is scheduled to be held in mid November in Pakistan. The joint exercise, spread over a period of two weeks, is aimed at mutual exchange of experience and information through a comprehensive training programme in real time. Exercise will encompass techniques and procedures involved in Low Intensity Conflict Operations (LIC) environment. This joint interaction in form of military exercise aims at sharing and enhancing expertise of both armies in countering terrorism.

Exercise YOUYI which literally translates "FRIENDSHIP" between two countries started in 2004. Pakistan Army was the first foreign army to conduct any exercise on Chinese soil. So far three exercises have been conducted; including two in China and one in Pakistan. These exercises were mandated to boost existing professional relationship between the two friendly Armies.

It may be mentioned here that Pakistan and China enjoy extremely close and brotherly relations since their inception, which have matured and strengthened over the years. The forthcoming Joint Military Exercise YOUYI-IV will certainly pave the way for further cementing the existing bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.
